The bags are packed and my excitement is palpable as I prepare for my six-week journey to Italy! I’ll be staying in Vetulonia, a charming hilltop village in the heart of Maremma, Tuscany, a region famous for its unspoiled landscapes, Etruscan history, and a slower pace of life. Surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, and rolling hills, this is the perfect backdrop for my ceramic residency.
During my time in Maremma, I’ll be working on modular ceramic sculptures, exploring how art connects with daily rituals and storytelling. Vetulonia’s ancient history, with its archaeological treasures and timeless beauty, will no doubt serve as a constant source of inspiration. Between studio hours, I’m looking forward to wandering through the local markets, sampling Tuscan cuisine, and soaking in the region’s rich culture.
This blog will be your window into the experience. From the challenges of balancing art, exploration and working as a digital nomad to the magic of discovering Maremma’s history, I’ll share it all. If you’ve ever dreamed of stepping away from the usual grind to immerse yourself in art and culture, stay tuned! The adventure officially begins soon—ciao for now!
